This week there has been a lot of pinching myself. I am one lucky little Aussie! My first week at Golf Channel has been awesome! Everyone is so nice and friendly and helpful and chatty – it’s a dream come true. I worked in the studios a lot – we rehearsed for ‘Lesson Tee Live’ many times over to help everyone working on the show including both the talent and production team to feel comfortable. This show is new, the talent is new and it’s live, so needless to say there is a lot to get right!
My co-host, Brien Crowell has to be one of the most gracious men on the planet – his integrity and ethics are off the charts impressive. He is a family man but has a sense of humour to die for. He makes me laugh time I see him. I am thrilled to bits he is my co-host.
Jim McLean was our first world-renowned golf instructor and guest on our show. Talk about a man before his time. He is genius-like and I loved observing him think, talk, react, swing and listen. He has it all – a gifted thinker, great physical skills and a true gentleman. His encouragement and support was touching – he genuinely wants to see people succeed.
Jim talked of the world famous golfers he works with – Lexi Thompson he mentioned is humble and too hard on herself…hard to imagine how you couldn’t look in the mirror and high five yourself if you are Lexi Thompson! He said many of his top players are from modest backgrounds and the key to their success is talent plus endless hard work. Goes to show how important work ethic is and believing in yourself too of course.
An amazing week at Golf Channel. Next week we have David Leadbetter on the show…back to pinching myself!
